Lindsay Trochta
Registered Social Worker
RSW
Here's what I believe.
I believe it is common for us to feel overwhelmed, isolated, anxious, fearful, or stuck in our thoughts, feelings, or behaviours. And when this happens, we become disoriented and can’t seem to find the right direction. This affects our efforts to establish and sustain healthy relationships with ourselves and others. An empathetic and accepting space fosters meaningful self-discovery, processing emotions, and personal growth, equipping us with the tools to navigate life's challenges.
Why I Care.
As a counsellor, I am grounded in the certainty that feelings of safety and connection serve as the cornerstones of healing. I know first-hand how counselling can help us get unstuck and create the change we want to make life easier. My personal and professional experiences have sparked my desire to support others who may be struggling and want to experience peace of mind.
My Education & Credentials.
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and am a Registered Social Worker. I have extensive experience from a variety of agencies and workplaces. Over the years I have worked in both community and in-patient care settings. Some places of employment include: Adoptions with MCFD, Parkview Child & Youth Mental Health, Ester Employment and Education program at TRU, Kamloops Forensic Psychiatric Clinic, Correctional Health, A Way Home Kamloops Housing, and Ask Wellness and Recovery. As a result, I have extensive knowledge of community resources and may assist with referrals or connections to relevant agencies.

Why People Work With Me
Unconditional positive regard for all individuals, relationship building, and putting the client at the centre of the work are the most important pieces to an effective counselling experience. I strive to cultivate therapeutic relationships that are warm, inviting, and genuine, so you can be your authentic self, or discover it... and feel profoundly understood in the process. I can meet you where you are and collaborate with you to facilitate the change you want. My outgoing and optimistic personality, intertwined with life experiences and education, help me create an open and welcoming space where you can engage in meaningful work, gain understanding and tools to make life easier, and take steps towards your goals. Let's get you unstuck!
