Here's what I believe.

Healing happens when shame takes a back seat. Shame is not a motivator for healing — safety and connection are. I believe trauma shapes how we relate to ourselves, others, and substances, and that many coping strategies labeled as “problems” were once essential for survival. Substance use and other behaviours that are harmful to us are not due to moral failings, but instead are often an attempt to reduce pain, disconnection, or overwhelm.

In my work, I focus on reducing shame and supporting people impacted by trauma and substance use to better understand themselves and their nervous systems. Therapy with me is collaborative and affirming, grounded in respect for your autonomy and lived experience. I believe meaningful change comes not from forcing ourselves to be different, but from learning to meet ourselves with compassion, honesty, and care.

Why I Care.

I care about this work because connection heals what shame isolates. I’ve witnessed how powerful it can be when people are met with curiosity instead of judgment, especially when they’ve been impacted by trauma or substance use. When safety is present, people often discover strengths and possibilities that were hidden by fear, or internalized stigma and shame.

Supporting people in building compassion toward themselves is at the heart of why I do this work. I care deeply about creating a therapeutic space where people feel respected, believed, and can be supported as the whole and capable humans that they already are.
